Interview to Whitepaper SaFAD

Autonomous systems are a major challenge for the automotive industry. In addition to the required functions (most of them have already been implemented), it is important to ensure the security of the systems under all (un-)conceivable circumstances. Vehicle manufacturers and suppliers have carried out a study on the design of future levels 3 and 4 and published the results in the White Paper Safety First for Automated Driving (SaFAD).

In an interview, graduate computer scientist Marc Ruppert, a long-time employee and consultant at F + S Fleckner and Simon Informationstechnik GmbH, explains what knowledge the study has gained and what additional requirements for system development have been defined for levels 3 and 4.
