Interview on new ISO standard 21448

Almost 10 years after the publication of the ISO 26262 standard, this year the ISO 21448 "Road Vehicles - Safety of the Intended Functionality" (SOTIF) has been published. It now starts where the ISO 26262 reaches its limits, for example in the development of assistance systems. The effects of the standard on the development of Level 1 and Level 2 systems is explained by Dipl.-Ing. Josef Horstkötter, partner and managing director of F + S Fleckner and Simon Informationstechnik GmbH, in an interview.
